All commissioned officers in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) are subject to the CAF Code of Service Discipline. As a member of the Cadet Wing of the RMC, it is also under Cadet Wing Instructions (CADWINS). These orders and instructions govern life at RMC and all carts must be adhered to and enforced.

The Cadet Wing is part of the Training Wing commanded by the Director of Cadets (DCdts). DCdts are responsible to the Commanding Officer of the RMC for the general management, administration, training and performance of the Cadet Wing. The DCdt is assisted in his work by officers, non-commissioned officers and social workers of the training unit. Division Commanders and Squadron Leaders of the Training Department advise and evaluate the students. The Training Wing Staff is responsible for military training for non-commissioned officers, including officer, fitness and training. Staff are available to answer cadet questions and provide advice on military matters.

The cadet wing unit consists of the cadet wing headquarters, the cadet wing commander (CWC), a fourth-year officer who exercises authority over the cadet wing (CW). The Cadet Wing consists of four divisions, each led by a fourth-year Cadet Division Leader (CDL). Each division consists of three soldiers, each led by a four-year platoon leader (CSL). Squadrons are made up of several aircraft, each led by a fourth year Cadet Flight Leader (CFL). Flights consist of several sections, led by a Third Year Cadet Section Officer (CSC). One of the groups (Otter Squadron) is a special group composed of students enrolled under UTPNCM.

In addition to the above positions, senior officer cadets (3rd and 4th year) also occupy the cadet wing. Senior cadets, who are responsible for the education, progress and strength of the cadet wing, are provided with practical training and leadership experience. Cadets organize and manage the sports program in the club and perform duties such as cadet on duty (CDO).

Military training is designed to produce officers who possess the qualities of: duty, integrity, honesty, courage, self-discipline, self-reliance and ésprit de corps.

Cadets are responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the many activities of the RMC. This "hands-on" approach gives every cadet a chance to develop as a leader. Regardless of physical or mental strength, training that is demeaning, punishing, harassing, or any form of "cruelty" is not permitted.

All cadets entering the College, other than those at UTPNCM, must complete certain qualifications before being accepted as full members of the Cadet Corps. The most important qualification, steering, is conducted at the end of the First Year Evaluation Period (FYOP). It's designed to show the first-year cart that it seems insurmountable, but can be overcome with a combination of teamwork, fitness, perseverance and determination.

The Royal Military College of Canada is renowned for the quality and variety of its ceremonial services. Achieving this high standard is only possible through the hard work and dedication of each student.

Cadets are expected to ride and maintain a high level of personal drill with rifle, sword and sword.

A performance test is carried out every year to check that the standard has been met. Several times during the year, the Royal Military College of Canada is called upon to provide cadet positions for conferences. Arrangements for these activities are made outside of working hours.

All Canadian Armed Forces personnel, including RMC cadets, are entitled to 20 days of leave, which is considered vacation. In addition to 20 days of vacation, there are weekends or legal holidays. All recreational facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and ice rink, are located near the college at the Kingston Military Sports Center (KMCSC).
